ZEST® Eyelid Cleaning
Professional Treatment for Blepharitis, Demodex and Eyelid Inflammation
ZEST® is a professional eyelid-cleaning treatment designed to remove the build-up of debris, biofilm, bacteria and Demodex from the eyelid margins and base of the eyelashes.
It can be especially helpful for patients with blepharitis, meibomian gland dysfunction, recurrent styes, crusting around the lashes or persistent eyelid irritation.
Unlike routine cleaning at home, ZEST® allows the eyelid margins to be cleaned thoroughly and precisely in clinic.
How Does ZEST® Help?
ZEST® provides a deeper and more thorough clean than is usually possible with home eyelid wipes or cleansers alone.
By removing debris and biofilm from the eyelid margins, the treatment may help:

What Happens During the Treatment?
Before treatment, your eyelids and the surface of your eyes will be examined to confirm that ZEST® is appropriate for you.
During the procedure:
You will lie or sit comfortably with your eyes closed.
A professional eyelid-cleansing solution will be applied to the eyelid margins and eyelashes.
A small rotating applicator will gently clean along the lash line.
Debris, crusting and biofilm will be carefully removed.
The eyelids will be cleaned and reviewed after treatment.
The treatment usually takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
What Should I Expect Afterwards?
Your eyelids may feel cleaner and refreshed immediately after treatment.
Some patients notice an improvement in irritation, itching or heaviness around the eyelids. However, the response varies depending on the severity and underlying cause of the condition.
Temporary mild redness or sensitivity can occasionally occur, particularly when the eyelids are already inflamed.
You can normally return to your usual activities immediately afterwards.
